Time for the Push-Up Challenge

Oh, I know. We never feel the greatest this time of year. The guilt sets in, the dark sets in, and everything feels likes it’s setting (settling) in.

We’ve done this before. It’s simple! Commit to 100 push-ups a day for the entirepush up month of January. That’s it! I don’t mean, grind out 100 push-ups at once (well, you can). Break it up through-out your day. In your bathroom before work, during work, at home, at your child’s practice. 100 a day is super easy! These are chest-to-the-ground push ups. Here’s a video link to give you some variety.

Interested in working toward 100 consecutive push-ups? Well, there’s a training program out there. We’ll explore that in February and March. Here’s the link: http://hundredpushups.com/index.html

February Challenge: Show Me Your Meal

Here’s the next one . . . It’s simple.

Sponsored by The Farm Store in Jeffersonville, VT.

Once a week in February, show me (us) a picture of a healthy meal (recipe included). The reward is preparing and sharing. I’ll collect the recipes and post them all at once after the Meal Challenge is over. Share them via email, Facebook or a post to this blog.

THEN . . .

On Saturday, March 7 we’ll have a meal gathering at my house starting at 6pm. Bring a dish you shared or one that someone else shared. It’s a great way to have a community gathering, focus on healthy food preparation, and trying new recipes.

A few rules: All recipes must exclude Refined Carbohydrates. Ideally, they should include Complex Fibrous Carbohydrates. Don’t know the difference? Do a little homework 🙂

Fairfax Starts @7pm (temporary)

Fairfax Announcement! ‘Tis the season to start boot camp at 7pm, instead of 6:30pm. We have to do this each year to accommodate school activities. For the next 3 mos, M & Th classes in Fairfax will start at 7pm sharp!

Jeffersonville is still at 6:30pm. Saturdays in Fairfax is still at 8am. Please pass this on!

See you on Monday! Hope you’re enjoying your holidays.

Fairfax Class Tonight Starts @6pm, not 6:30pm

Please pass the word. . . I heard from the BFA Fairfax school this morning, that due to many activities happening tonight (Wed., Oct. 30), boot camp class will need to start at 6pm, not 6:30pm. This is the Fairfax location, not Cambridge.

I apologize for the last minute notice, but when we’re inside, we’re at the mercy of the school schedule.  Please pass this on. Thank you.

Remember, we had to move Thursday night’s class (Halloween) to tonight.
