Yes, There’s Boot Camp on Monday!

As usual, we’ll labor on Labor Day. We won’t be able to enter the school. So, I’ll be at the gazebo at BFA Fairfax at 6:30pm on Monday no matter what the weather is.

Here’s a few facts about Labor Day:

What’s outrageous enough to spur ten thousand people to parade through NYC? A 12 hour workweek! In the late 19th century, the average working day consisted of 12 hours. Held on a Tuesday, the first Labor Day rally was held in order to gain support for the 8 hour workday.

In February of 1887, the great state of Oregon was the first in the Union to pass law making Labor Day and officially recognized holiday.

And yes, it’s perfectly okay to wear whites after Labor Day!

A Big Shout Out To: Dana

She ran her first 15K. Dana is someone who sets her goals, follows her plan and overcomes obstacles. Some say, what’s her secret? First, our goals need to be intrinsically important. We also need to share our goals because we all need a pat on the shoulder and to receive words of encouragement.

Nice job Dana!
