Week of June 16

Happy Father’s Day

On July 19, 1910, the governor of the U.S. state of Washington proclaimed the nation’s first “Father’s Day.” However, it was not until 1972, 58 years after President Woodrow Wilson made Mother’s Day official, that the day became a nationwide holiday in the United States. Summer Session Starts Tomorrow & Early Morning Class Starts Wednesday!

See last week’s post or go to the Locations & Schedule page for details.

We are lucky to have such a great landscape for our playground!

We’re Coming to Cambridge Elementary School!

Starting every Wednesday night (@6:30pm), we’ll be at the Cambridge Elementary school. We’ll start in the back (gazebo). So when you pull in and don’t see us, walk around the back next to the playground. Looks like we’re going to have a great crew! Remember, children under 18 are FREE! First Responders are FREE!

Empowerment Run

What a crew we had at the run . . . 19 of us (Chelsea is missing from the pic).

The best part was when the two kids placed 1st and 2nd. Kolton placed 1st in the 5k and Miles placed 2nd! We are all so happy and proud! It was quite hot, but they did amazing.

More impressive results:

  • Patti Ransom placed 2nd in the 5K for 50-59!! She also came in ahead of all 3 of her children.
  • Alice Drake placed 1st in the 10K for 60-69!
  • Sharon King placed 1st in the 10K for 50-59!
  • Matt Butler placed 2nd in the 10K for 30-39!
