Locations & Schedule

Please read carefully

Essex classes at ADL. They will remain on Tuesdays at 6:30pm. The only change is after January 1st; thats when the Tuesday class will move to the Essex Jct. Recreation department building, since there’s no space at ADL during the winter.

Essex classes at Aspire on Saturday mornings at 7 are still going as planned.

Fairfax classes on Monday and Thursday’s were move to 7pm until mid-March due to space limitations. We’ll start exactly at 7 and end exactly at 8. We’re scheduled to be in the multi-purpose room unless there’s a major event, then we’re in the elementary gym.

Week in Review

Essex

Tuesday: ” It was a small class of five amazingly hard working women! We had a few new moves we warmed up to. The side to side squats, Hindu and frog pushups were a bit awkward at first, but we got through it! We had a station of wall ball slams, tricept dips,the blissful burpees,squats and pushups, everyone all got a shot at being the pacemaker.  Great effort Betty, Deb, Michelle, and Kristin! We missed Michelle F., Angela, Pam and Jessica . . . hope to see you girls next week.” –Paula

Saturday: “I was SO impressed with the turn out! We all warmed up and worked out hard! It was so intense–no one knew when the warm up stopped and the actual workout began! It was nice to form our Saturday morning circle and all worked out together! Just when you think you can’t possibly perform one more move…You absorb a bit of radiating energy from the tightly formed group and amazingly enough, you find you could do it after all!…. We all ended the class with our tradition of picking your ab move and counting the group through it. Our goal was 500!….(set by the head honcho)…We didn’t make it, but we gave it our all! …. Great job  Kris, Lisa D., Amber, Donna L., Anne, Dan and Geoff.” –Paula

Fairfax

Monday: “We did a pacemaker work out.  We started out with a shuffle huddle warm-up including some squat & push-up moves. This got us all warm & toasty for the work-out.  What an amazing bunch of committed to health and movement people you are.  Everyone of you gave it your all.  If you gained a pound or two from Thanksgiving feasting…it was seriously shed!

We ended the pacemaker with a fun group lunge to the lobby staircase, a quick run up and down the stairs and lunge back to the multi-purpose room. To make a great work-out even better, we ended with 500 sit-ups.  You’ve heard of speed dating?  This was speed ab-ing!  It was so good to see Amy B back.  Paula M. and Nikki are still recuperating from their surgeries, but that didn’t stop them one bit. And Chelsea, in the final few weeks of her pregnancy, is still going strong!   Keep moving and have a great week!” —Lisa S.

Thursday was our first time starting at 7pm and we had a large turnout, even though it was our first somewhat major snowfall of the year. Nothing frightens us boot campers! I guess you can say the theme of the night was legs, legs and more legs. Dan was in the mix again. Speaking of mix, the class had running, lunging, jumping, squatting, dragging, pushing . . . followed by more running, jumping, lunging, squatting, dragging and pushing . . . ended with a short 4 minute plank. I want to increase our plank time to 8 minutes next time. Eventually, for those who want the extra challenge, I’d like to start the class early in the hallway or the fitness room with 20-30 minute plank. The longest I’ve done is 20 minutes and I was feeling it for days. I’ll keep you posted on the “fun” challenge 🙂

Since this was the first drawing, we wanted to make it special and draw 3 people. Going forward, one person will be randomly selected.

Didn’t win? Don’t worry. All chances are carried forward month-to-month. Now Donna, Carma and Heather, in order to get back in the running, all you have to do is bring a new buddy to boot camp.

Next drawing will take place in January. Looking forward to seeing you drag in your buddy kicking and screaming, then seeing them leave with a big smile 🙂

Fun Challenges

Santa Run: Fellow boot campers participated in this race today; it was held in downtown Burlington. It’s a great time, especially with your children.

Good friends Skye Nacel  and Megan feb challengeWalsh are connected, so you know it’s going to be good. Don’t be scared, it’s definitely going to be a fun challenge. 2nd Annual Push-Up Challenge in January: Remember this from last year? You select a challenge of 5,000 or 10,000 push-ups. How many is that a day? Do your math 🙂 I did 10,000 and I never felt so strong after that challenge . . . So start thinking about what you want to do.
