Week in Review

Yes, there’s class on Monday, September 3 (Labor Day). We’ll definitely feel like we’re in labor 🙂 See you Monday and Thursday this week!

Last week was full of big numbers, big finishes and big, bad words . . . 100, 200, 300 . . . $#@@!! and a @*&^^! The big, bad words came out after Paula pulled out her “easy” button. She now needs to find a “this is stupid” button. However, the highlight was when Joe and Jake were finally able to have everyone participate in the baseball diamond sprint, where two teams race the 4 bases in a relay format. The last leg of one team was Joe and the other was Jake. The boys sprinted like their pants were on fire and ended up tying!!! I think there’s another diamond sprint in the future!!

Conquered the Monster, the Vermonster!

The first annual Vermonster was a huge hit! Our very own boot campers swept the top spots! My sister kicked butt! Me? Well, I couldn’t participate in the obstacle today due to my sick son…my husband was out of town😦

Here’s the low-down of both days . . .

Day 1: Crossfit Competition (for both rookie and veterans)

People came from Mass. and Conn. to join a large crew from Vermont. My very own sister, who trains in St. Johnsbury, showe

Blisters on Diana’s hand from the obstacle course on Sunday

d incredible focus, grit and strength. She placed 2nd in the recreation division!

Day 2: Vermonster Obstacle (need pics!)

This is the sprint obstacle created by our very own Megan Walsh and her partner, Skye Nacel. From our boot camp there was Katie, Diana, Lynn, Corrie and Sarah. There were two divisions: Open and Recreation. Guess what? Katie won the Open! Yes, she won!!! Then Sarah won the Recreation! Yes, she also won! Then if that’s not enough, Diana placed 3rd in the Recreation division. But wait there’s more! Katie also had the fastest heat out of entire field! Crazy hugh?! I had people texting me saying that they kept hearing “Boot Camp with LSD” announced all day. Congratulations ladies, you represented and made your mark!

Back to School Recipes

You definitely have to try some of these recipes. I made the banana breakfast cookies (added muesli) and the peanut butter jelly bars (w/out the jelly). The kids tested them, gave them thumbs up and now they’re in the freezer. There are 31 recipes.
