Week in Review**Notice of class change: No class on Monday, June 11 (graduation for my school). Class will take place on Tuesday, June 12 and Thursday, June 15.
Memorable Memorial Day on Monday. It was great to have a small group meet 30 minutes before boot camp started for a nice run. For being a holiday, we had a good crowd show-up for an obstacle course-style workout with all the trimmings–including hula-hooping. Yes, hula-hooping! Our Lonnie showed up with her hula-hoop, along with Anne and Paula. Everyone, even the men, were able to work the weighted hoops. Indeed this fits our tagline . . . “Fun Work, Hard Play.”
Thursday was another obstacle-like workout to get everyone pumped for the Renegade Playground Challenge this weekend. Additionally, we were fortunate to have Lonnie give us an introduction to meditation. She met with Challengers in the gazebo. For more information, Lonnie Poland can be reached at 373-5319. She teaches on Tuesdays: 6:30 – 7:00pm Meditation 7:00 – 8:00pm Yoga.
Summer Schedule & Special is Announced
Go to the Location and Schedule page for more details on this special that you don’t want to miss. This may be a good time to introduce your friends, partners, and children to the Boot Camp experience, because this is a CRAZY deal!!
Special Weight Lifting Class this Summer
There are only a handful of straight bars in the BFA-Fairfax weight room and I thought that it would be fun to lead a small group of people who want to become more serious about lifting. It will be offered Tuesday mornings at 6 am. I have to confirm the number of straight bars to determine the maximum allowed. First come, first serve for registration. Start date will be June 19 and will last 8 weeks. The price is $70.00 for the program. This summer class is separate from the boot camp classes. Let me know if you’re interested.
Challenges in All Shapes and Sizes
The Renegade Playground Challenge is this weekend. The May push-up/sit-up challenge ended on May 31. Don’t forget to update the google doc spreadsheet with your final push-up number. Also, the latest 100 Day Challenge is almost done. However, those who are in it are just beginning 🙂
Here’s the spreadsheet to update your push-up number from the May Challenge. Congratulations on stepping up to the plate and pushing yourself, by yourself. I see some truly impressive results. Hopefully, for some, this will become a habit of some sort in your daily routine. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AiYlUFL8cIAIdDlUMW5WQUhzNEVTRktDWmZLUXFYZUE
